Three months after service delivery company,  Zidora group launched its errand platform, it is set to launch another e-commerce platform, Arigo in Nigeria. Arigo will serve as an online marketplace for buyers and sellers, while helping to improve the overall shopping experience for clients.

According to the Chief Executive Officer, Dr Arinze Fortune Madueke, the platform will enable sellers to advertise their products for sale.“We want to create a point where everything is possible. A place where you showcase what you have for the world to see. Most times, you find people who have something to sell very urgently but you don’t know how to go about it or where to locate the would-be buyer,” he said.

“There are lots of people who desire that exact thing you want to dispose of, but reaching them most times is a challenge, hence we want to solve that problem.”

With the emergence of numerous e commerce platforms, developed countries continue to enjoy higher economic benefits from digitization. Thus, the addition of Arigo to the online market space is likely to stir up competition. When asked about the competition to be faced in the e-commerce market as a new venture, the CEO responded confidently that “Arigo is a big fish in a big ocean (Africa).”

The entry of e-commerce platforms like the Zidora Group help to promote the steady growth of digitization across various sectors within Nigeria’s economy. Also, more competition may be necessary to ensure that these companies remain focused on providing the best services to customers.

The Zidora group is working towards a strong and healthy e-commerce space that would be able to provide efficient services to people. In September 2018, the group launched the Zidora errand platform, a logistics company in Abuja.
