Bafokeng Holdings CEO Niall Carroll tendered his resignation from the group on Tuesday.
The resignation which was announced by the group has been accepted, with regret, by the RBH board sees Carroll step down from the position he took since 2006.
Prior to this, he was CEO of Royal Bafokeng FInance, which was merged with RBH, from 2004-2008.
Current executive director: finance, Mr Lucas Ndala steps up as interim CEO.
The visionary leader of the Bafokeng Nation, King Kgosi Leruo Molotlegi, showered encomiums on Carroll stating his effort at creating a
superb team of professionals who would ensure the RBH and the Bafokeng Nation’s business rests in ‘safe hands’.
Qouting Carroll his association with RBH has been ‘both a pleasure and a privilege…’
He opined that ‘RBH’s investment viison of being the leading, community-based investment company is one that has required care, leadership, diligence and vigilance to live up to.’
According to him, ‘it has needed the right poeple and the right partners,’ and the RBH have been ‘fortunate to have both.’
The Royal Bafokeng Nation owns just over 1000km² of land, which hosts the world-renowned Bushveld Complex, holding the richest reserves of platinum group metal (PGMs) and chrome in the world. With a R32.5 billion investment portfolio, the main industries in The Royal Bafokeng Nation include mining, agriculture and recently, by virtue of King Leruo, tourism.
