Mobile phone and internet company, Orange Botswana, has rolled out Botswana’s first 4G technology, allowing its customers to have access to faster mobile internet.

“As the only operator to have successfully launched 4G to the market in Botswana, we have unique insight into how the technology is changing behaviour,” said Orange Botswana Director of Corporate Affairs, Lepata Mafa.

“Because 4G users download greater volumes of data much faster, this frees up network resources for other users of 2G and 3G that use network resources at a slower rate,” she added.

Orange Botswana is  a subsidiary of French multinational telecommunications corporation, Orange S.A.. It currently employs about 170,000 people, 105,000 of them in France, and has 230 million customers worldwide. In 2012, the group had revenue of €43.5 billion. It is headquartered in French capital, Paris.
