Mozambique’s GDP has accelerated from 8.1 percent to 6.5 percent.
Data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), depicts that the growth took place between the third quarter and the fourth quarter of 2011.

The INE in a statement said, “The increased growth was underpinned by advances in mining, construction, manufacturing, transport and communications.”

Overall, the economy grew by 7.1 percent in 2011, with agriculture accounting for 15 percent of GDP growth for the fourth quarter.
The manufacturing sector represented 14 percent.
