The Dangote Group has appointed TATA Consulting Engineering as management consultants for its new $1.9 billion fertiliser plant in Nigeria’s Edo State, it said on Monday.
President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, said the company was set to put in place fertiliser plant with international standard, assisting in revolutionising agriculture in the country and the continent.
The plant, with a production capacity of 2.200 metric tonnes per day (MTPD) of Ammonia and 7.700 MTPD of granulated Urea (two 3,850 MTPD-capacity trains), will be the biggest fertiliser project in Nigeria, according to ThisDay Live.
“Our ultimate goal is to build a world-class plant that meets the highest global standards”, ThisDay quoted Dangote as saying.

In terms of the agreement, TATA Consulting Engineers, an integrated engineering solutions consultant, will assist the Dangote Group with the assessment of engineering, construction management, quality management, health and safety management and the “entire gamut of project management services.”
Managing Director of TATA Consulting Engineers, J. P. Haran, said his company’s association with the Dangote Group was based on a strong foundation of common trust.
“We will ensure that we meet the Dangote Group’s expectations in delivery…and on time project completion”, Haran was quoted as saying.
