Avic International, a Chinese civil aviation import and export company, has announced a 61 billion CFA francs ($115 million) deal with Cameroon for the delivery of three aircraft, the company said on Wednesday.

Xu Bo, an Avic executive who signed the deal with the Cameroonian government, told journalists two of the planes would be sold to country while the third would be a gift.

According to Bo,  the aircraft maker will also provide spare parts and training to Camair Co staff.

Avic’s MA60 turboprop planes, which seat about 60 passengers, will be delivered to Camair by September and will be used by the central African nation’s flag carrier on domestic and sub-regional routes, Reuters reported.

Presently, the airline has 3 aircraft -a Boeing 767-300 and two 737-700s- in its fleet.

Camair Co is Cameroon’s flag carrier. The airline was established on the 11th of September, 2006, by decree of Cameroonian president Paul Biya, to replace the country’s former national carrier Cameroon Airlines
