Residents of the Mathare slum area in Nairobi Kenya, can now have access to cleaner and cheaper water through an ATM-style dispenser. The slum dwellers who relied solely on vendors that sell expensive and polluted water can now use a smart card to have access to water.

Ethiopia ruling party wins all seats in parliament.
Ethiopia’s ruling party, the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) have won all parliamentary seats in the elections held in May including the one seat held by an opposition party. This was made known by the Election Commission Chairman, Merga Bekana who said the elections were free and fair.
