Blackberry, a world leader in mobile communications has announced new enterprise solutions, partnerships and smartphone models at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona, Spain, which would enable enterprises and individuals maximize productivity, communication and collaboration.
“We have engineered a new strategy to stabilize the company and restore our customers’ confidence in BlackBerry,” said John Chen, Executive Chairman and CEO at BlackBerry.
According to Mr Chen, the new offering shows Blackberry’s commitment to “bringing solutions to market that matter most to our customers”.
“These secure solutions emphasize our strengths in enterprise mobility, while empowering end users to become more productive with technologies that drive communications and collaboration,” Chen added.
Secure and private mobility solutions for Enterprises is one of the highlights of Blackberry’s new enterprise solutions, with the new Blackberry Enterprise Service (BES), BES 12, a new EZ Pass program, a new BES pricing and licensing structure, and also the eBBM suite all included in the new offering.
Blackberry also introduced new devices; Z3 and Q20.
Blackberry’s market share in the global smartphone market has dropped significantly since December 2012, plunging 40 percent to stand at just 1.7 percent in November 2013. On the back of this, the company launched its popularly messaging application, Blackberry Messenger (BBM) on rival platforms, proving an instant hit with over 10 million downloads in 24 hours of its launch.
The company expects the newly launched services and devices to increase its market share and restore consumers’ confidence in its ability to provide the best mobile communications experience.
